Description: LED lamp/torch rechargeable, portable and a multi-function

Risks: the LED lamp/torch involves serious risks such as burns, electric shock, fire because the cables inside the power cable are too thin and could overheat during use. The plastic part of the integrated plug is made of combustible material. The insulation and pin sizes of the mains plug and output connector are not appropriate, leaving live parts accessible. Live parts may become accessible without the use of any tools.

The product does not comply with Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU and harmonised standard EN 60598.

Action adopted: the measures adopted consists in recalling the product from end users and in withdrawing the product from the market (Hungary).

Annex I

Protection against hazards arising from the electrical equipment

Measures of a technical nature shall be laid down in accordance with point 1, in order to ensure that:

(a) persons and domestic animals are adequately protected against the danger of physical injury or other harm which might be caused by direct or indirect contact;

(b) temperatures, arcs or radiation which would cause a danger, are not produced;

(c) persons, domestic animals and property are adequately protected against non-electrical dangers caused by the electrical equipment which are revealed by experience;

(d) the insulation is suitable for foreseeable conditions.

 

Harmonised standard:

EN 60598 is a family of standards on luminaires.
