The Administrative Co-operation Group (ADC) under the Radio Equipment Directive has made available new information to meet the requirements of the Radio Equipment Directive (RED).

The information sheets of the ADC-RED, which is composed by the market surveillance authorities of this sector, should assist in the interpretation of the requirements for placing radio equipment under Directive 2014/53/EU on the market.

These documents are publicly available, but not binding in the sense of a legal act adopted by any of the EU institutions. In the case of inconsistency between the provisions of the Directive and these information sheets, the provisions of the Directive prevail.

The administrative requirements for placing equipment on the EU market concern the conformity assessment, the technical documentation, the EU declaration of conformity and the putting into service of the radio equipment.

Furthermore the documents deal with the traceability and the information on the use and the languages that can be used in the different countries of the European Union.

During recent market surveillance activities it was found that in many cases products of well-known brands did not meet the traceability requirements of Article 10.6 and 10.7 of Directive 2014/53/EU. In addition templates of a correct data plate are provided for the case of a manufacturer using a registered trademark or a (registered trade) name or for the importer.

Please find these new sheets below.
